Which Apple Pencil do you use?

I'm often asked why I'm using the 2nd generation Apple Pencil instead of the newer Apple Pencil Pro. The answer is simple: I started with the 2nd gen before the Pro was released, and honestly, I haven’t felt like missing a thing!


The 2nd generation Apple Pencil is a fantastic tool for drawing, it's precise, responsive, and supports double-tap gestures and magnetic charging. For many artists and creators (myself included!), it delivers exactly what I need for a smooth, intuitive experience.

If you're just getting started and considering which Apple Pencil to use, the 2nd gen is still an excellent choice, especially if your iPad is compatible with it. It offers a great balance of performance and value, and it’s widely supported by most iPad models designed for creative work.

Curious About the Pro?

Of course, if you’re using one of the latest iPad models and features like squeeze gestures or barrel rotation control sound exciting to you, the Apple Pencil Pro could definitely be worth exploring. It's designed with even more advanced input in mind, which might suit some artists who do more complex design or illustration work.
