Charly's filming gears: A Quick Guide

In this article you can find a little guide on all the gear I use for filming, especially for my YouTube tutorials and classes. I'm always looking for ways to keep my process simple so I can focus on the fun part: creating!

Filming Setup

For My YouTube Tutorials

For those overhead shots you see in my tutorials, I use a handy overhead tripod. If I'm using a heavier camera, I'll add a sandbag to the base to make sure it stays steady and doesn't tip over. For lighting, I usually film by a window for natural light, but I'll add a softbox light in the background if I'm going for a darker, moodier vibe.

For My Social Media Content

For most of my social media content, I just use my iPhone 12 Pro. It’s great for quick clips and behind-the-scenes moments. I have two different iPhone tripods, and one is really handy if you’re mainly filming using your phone.
